We recognize that every child is unique, and our approach is rooted in respect for their individuality. We encourage children to explore, discover, and develop their curiosity through play-based learning while building essential social and emotional skills.

We prioritize emotional intelligence, helping children recognize, understand, and manage their emotions. This foundation prepares them for academic success and equips them with the tools to thrive in an ever-changing world. Meet Emma

My journey into childcare is driven by a profound passion for nurturing and enhancing children's emotional intelligence, fostering sensory regulation, and embracing the wonders of exploration.

You'll often find me at the beach in my free time, savoring a comforting chai latte or sharing about fertility (I’m also a fertility awareness educator). My journey into childcare began in my teenage years when I cared for my siblings. Since then, I've dedicated myself to caring for and educating children of all ages, from infancy to high school.

My husband and I have a 4-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter. This personal experience of parenthood enriches my approach to childcare, understanding the joys and challenges of raising a family. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with minors in Education & Psychology from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT. Ensuring safety is extremely important to me; I hold a regularly renewed Pediatric & Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

My commitment to ongoing professional development strongly focuses on emotional intelligence and regulation, a cornerstone of our childcare philosophy. I've also been trained as a Tinkergarten Teacher, further deepening my love for education and play.

With over ten years of childcare experience, a passion for children's emotional well-being, and a dedication to providing a nurturing and enriching environment, I invite you to join the Corner Kids Adventures family. I have references for you, and I look forward to the opportunity to support your child's growth and development.

Frequency Asked Questions

What ages of children do you accept?

Our routine is designed to cater to the needs and developmental stages of children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years.

What are your operating hours?

We operate Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Extended care hours can happen on a case by case basis, please ask.

How do you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?

We take allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. Before enrollment, we work closely with parents to understand allergies or dietary needs and develop a plan to accommodate them safely. We do have 2 dogs, so a pet allergy wouldn’t be able to be accommodated.

What is your curriculum like?

Our curriculum is play-based and focused on fostering emotional intelligence, outdoor exploration, and

foundational skills. We use a thematic approach to engage children's curiosity and creativity.

Can I visit the space before enrolling my child?

Absolutely! We encourage families to schedule a tour after the initial video interview. It's an excellent opportunity to meet Emma, explore our space, and ask any additional questions you may have.

How do you communicate with parents about their child's day?

We provide live communication through an app that parents can access to see real-time updates on activities, pictures, toileting, food, sleep, and more. A daily email is also sent with an overview of what took place.

Do you have references available from current or former parents?

Yes, references are available upon request after the interview stage of the enrollment process; please ask!

Are you open on federal holidays?

No, unfortunately we are closed on all federal holidays. If those are the only days you’d use flex care/drop in we recommend finding a different care option.

Are you a registered childcare facility in the state of South Carolina?

Yes, Emma is a Registered Family Child Care facility #25878. This includes regular background checks, training, and inspections. Learn more about child care in South Carolina at scchildcare.org

What forms of payment do you accept?

Invoices are sent bi-weekly, and the option to pay electronically or by check is available before the due date.

Do you accept ABC Vouchers/Scholarships?

Unfortunately, we do not yet accept vouchers. Please reach out with any other financial requests.

If you have any additional questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
